Bongo Fury

If my roof has been down for a while,it sticks to the bodywork on the bongo. It's also started to perish,especially on the front corners. To overcome this problem,I've started to apply vaseline to the rubber seal on my AFT. This as stopped it sticking on lifting and is protecting it against the elements. anybody else tried it??!

If I remember correctly vaseline is a petrol based product and breaks down rubber
other products should be used

Yep,think Weston is correct there,Vaseline is Petroleum Jelly.....try Veg Oil.....or Slide n Glide from Ann Summers.It doesnt rot condoms so shouldnt harm your roof seal..

If it works on a babys bottom,it's good enough for the bongo I think different rubbers are affected by different substances. Petrol,oil and water pipe,are all made of rubber!! I like the idea of Ann Summers though!!

K Y jelly from my local morrisons will do the trick then,I wonder if the young girl behind the till will believe me when I tell her it's for my car!! Honest!!
