Impromptu meet.

Isn't it weird how things turn out? Nipped up to dbo's today for a brew, and spotted a very familiar grey bongo parked up outside... It was that old scallywag dabs visiting too! \:D/

After much chatting and brew supping, dabs mentioned about concorde being parked up at the aviation viewing section of manchester airport...10 minutes later,3 blingy bongo's were heading up the M56 en route to the airport!

Image

We even discovered the secret haunted plane!

It turned out that a technician was working inside the plane behind our bongo's in the pics, one of us noticed a face peering out of the cockpit window, and by the time we all looked the face had gone! It took quite a while before we all spotted the guy,it turns out he was more interested in our bongo's than he was his job!

Image

Image

Here's my lauren saying "i can't see a ghost"?

Image

It just goes to show the power of the bongo, there were more people in the viewing park interested in our bongo's than they were in concorde, and the many other jets landing and taking off!... None of those planes had roof popping abilities though...

We had a great day, the sun shined brightly, dabs was quick to supply the brews and cakes, and dbo even cracked open his secret stash of biccies... \:D/

(oops, i was supposed to keep that a secret! )

Dave? Have any of you two got a pic of that caddilac that parked up alongside us?

What a quick decision that was, Sunday morning drinking my cuppa , two scruffs appear within minutes of one another, and within 10 mins we had decided to go and visit Concorde.

Image

what an absolutely brill bit of engineering, seems such a shame that it will never fly again, one of my few regrets was not having flown on Concorde.

Image

stunning sunny day , we had quite a few people asking to have a look at the bongoes, and here's me thinking it was the planes people had come to see.

Image

thanks lads for dragging me out when i could have been at home, mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, and catching up on all my paperwork . =D> =D>

Oh wow, I would love to have seen concorde. Despite being terrified of flying, I would have braved it for a go in this beauty.

Thanks for a look at the photos and I don't blame you for leaving all the tedious humdrum jobs for a trip out.

If my memory serves me correctly, i remember summer 1977 (i think) being in the school playground at playtime (sorry, breaktime) And hearing a roar in the sky,as i looked up i could make out concorde's unmissable shape miles up in the sky, i can see it now in my minds eye, quite vividly. I'd only be about 6 years old, even then i realized it was quite an event to see it around these parts.

I think the queen mum was somewhere in the north west that day, that may have been why concorde was on it's way to manchester airport?
