Winsford & Thomas

Post by Wigan_Pixie » Sun Sep 21, 2008 12:00 am

Well, we finally made it back from Winsford - a day early due to Thomas being ill :( He started getting worse on the way home, so Mad Willie was pushed to get us home as quickly as possible and, as usual, he didn't disappoint. I decided to take Tom to hospital, just to be on the safe side, and after numerous tests and x-rays he was diagnosed as having a bad chest infection. They wanted to keep him in overnight for observation but he made such a fuss that he was allowed home after being dosed up. So he's on antibiotics and painkillers and we have to take him to the doctors on Monday.

I hope everyone had a good time and I'm sorry we missed Saturday evening's entertainment. Thomas loves music and was expecting to dance the night away. Hopefully we'll be at Silverdale, but the hospital said it could take 2 or 3 weeks before Thomas is completely over the infection, so we may be cutting it a bit fine. If we can't camp, we could always come for the day.

Hope everyone else makes it home without any dramas. See you all again soon.

Nice to meet you very briefly WP and sorry you and Thomas missed the 'entertainment'. Hope very much he improves quickly and we'll see him at another Bongo meet. You did the right thing. It got chilly in the Autumnal evening. No place to be if you are suffering with a chest infection. Give Thomas our best wishes and tell him he can hear some of our stuff at http://www.built4comfort.co.uk

Had a similar experience with my son. It may be 2 weeks before he's over the infection, but he'll be fine in a few days because of the effect of the antibiotics - just make sure he takes the whole course of the antibiotics, even though he feels better.

Well, Thomas is almost back to his usual boisterous self, although he's sleeping a lot (small mercy). I, on the other hand, feel like death warmed up. Can't wait to see the pics (apart from any with me trying juggling skills) as Tom took all of ours and they are rather strange. Sad that we had to come back early but these things happen I suppose.

Thanks for all the good wishes to Thomas, see you all at Gibraltar farm [-o<

Gosh I'm glad he's feeling better. He seemed great on Friday night and next thing I knew you were having to go home. Lots of TLC and hopefuly we will see you at Silverdale - brews and stuff on us if you have to come as a day visitor so dont worry about that.

He's been left with a bad cough which makes his chest hurt, but other than that he's not too bad. Still a bit on the quiet side, but that makes a pleasant change. I do think that he enjoyed all the fuss and drama at the hospital a bit too much and the fact that his dad met us there made it even better. So I'm expecting him to get "man flu" pretty regularly from now on
