Bongo Fury

Does anybody know the torque setting for the wheel nuts. My local tyre fitter has done them to 130ft/lbs and is happy to redo them if I come up with a correct setting.

Not sure of the answer, but would have thought it may make a difference if you're using alloy or steel wheels. There's no doubt a happy medium between tight enough to be safe & no so tight that you can't undo them with the standard wheel wrench.

117 - 147 NM or 87 - 108 lb/ft

Hope they haven't damaged the threads tightening them to 130 lb/ft

Blimey - do peeeps actually torque wheel nuts!?!?!

I just do 'em tight (but not too tight) with a socket and extension bar (I need these with my alloys as the standard jobbie won't fit). The logic is only superman could have got them that tight with tyhe standard bar so they must (a) be tight enough and (b) be get-off-able using same said extension bar. Yep, mah name is The Irish Mechanic (surname O'Neill so can say that without raising Irish tempers I hope, although the Irish have a sense of humour the world could learn from so doubt they'd fuss anyway!!!)
