Removing gas struts from roof

I think I need to get my roof struts re-gassed.

Can anyone take me through how to get them off (& back on). Does the roof need to be supported while they are taken off, and how much manpower would be required.

Many thanks

Rob

You need to either support it or lift it I'd say rob. It weighs 65 kg and thats the reason for the threaded holes in the roof - to support it from a sling above.

It would not be normal to need to regas the struts unless they need uprateing for some reason.(heavy roof rack) if it's because it is just slow/jerky going up or dosn't quite lock or is out I would first look for other reasons.
If the roof goes up level Then it would be extreamly rare for both struts to lose gas.
