Hi there, having avoided the wet bank holiday camping and decided to set off today, my bongo sounds like a tank!!!!
Took it to the local garage, they tell me it needs a back box and could do with the middle bit replacing as that is about to go too, however, surprise surprise "havent come across one of these" and cant find the part numbers....
Can anyone point me in the right direction of
1. part numbers?
2. suppliers?
3. would be worth replacing the whole lot?
4. what is going to be the cost?
5. will we get to go camping today, tommorow, ever?

Click on the Bongo Shop ad (top right of this page) and navigate to the "Exhausts" section. :D

Ok....Im a bit thick, so please stay with me....

a) Listed in the bongo fury parts "centre section and back box (together)", is that the whole exhaust?

b) Listed on Evilbay, iezura exhaust, "a bongo exhaust comes in either 3 or 4 bits", this must be a full exhaust?

The front bit is just a plain pipe and seems to be quite long lasting, the middle section seems to rot a bit so could need replacing - but the rear section (pipe over the back axle and back box) is a badly designed piece of **** that just breaks in half at regular inervals where the pipe enters the back box.

I replaced mine once, but won't bother again.
I'll just replace the back box with a nice piece of straight through pipe.
Others have done that and report no great increase in noise once the exhaust is shot out under the bumper (instead of under the back of the car) and better performance due to less back pressure.

I got the middle and rear sections from Iezura, well made, cheap and arrived next day - but order by phone to make sure you order the right two sections - online ordering appears to get mixed up sometimes.

I bought a NEW back box on Ebay and am chuffed with it...

It cost about £65 from memory and the centre section goes for about £85.

You an buy cheaper but the quality is a bit suspect!

PM me if you want details / any advice. I would replace centre and rear section together.

replaced mine with one from mazdabongo.com middle and back section with 2 year guarentee, did look at the lezura one on ebay but only offered one year and it was a pain to get off like scanner said had to resort to 9" angle grinder to assist me  and as i didn't want to do the job again went for the other option slightly more expensive but only doing it once hopefully

Grrrrr - missed a brand new back box on ebay tonight as my autobidding software flunked out. It went for £32 plus postage. Rats! Where did you get the £65 one from?

After some very helpful suggestions of where to buy from, and looking at a wide range of prices, that apparently reflects the quality???? and warrenty??? Also there appears to be confusion in that some bongo exhausts come in 4 parts and some in 3 parts, so if you want to replace the lot and you have a 3 part, you have to replace it with the 4 part exhaust??? I only needed the back box and I was assured by the company that I bought my back box from that the back box is no differant whether it is a 3 part or 4 part exhaust.
As my budget was very tight, I decided to go for the cheaper back box off ebay. £59.99 inc P&P and next day delivery, £25 for my local garage to fit, which apperently is only two bolts, so if your handy (which Im not, then you might want to have a go yourself), we were back on the road the very next day and off to enjoy some camping in the sun.

I understand (not sure) it is the front half that can be bought as 1 or 2 pieces, the back 2 sections are the same regardless of what is fitted up front.
