Diagnostics Socket

Hi there,

Does anyone know what standard the bongo diagnostics socket by the passenger footwell is? Is it ODBII?

I have OBD11 and its definatly not that...not sure what one is though

The diagnostics socket for the diesel Bongo is a little primitive surely. OBDII and PWM (Ford and some Mazda) are to be found on vehicles with engine management systems. I thought it was a petrol only thing but could be wrong.

ah, sorry, forgot to mention I have the V6 petrol.

The local LPG installer had a scanner he plugged in a while back and he could read the ECU settings etc. Thinking that the OBDII scanners are quite cheap these days and it would be useful to have one.

Not sure if the petrol diags socket is different from the diesel, I'll take a pic when I get back from camping.

It's not a standard diagnostic connector, however the scantool that the garage used was a "Carman scan 2" and it had bongo friendee on the menu. However I believe it to be a standard PWM protocol. I'll look into it as I could do with something myself.

translates as poetry about the sort of expensive magic I may need, but I'm not much closer to a diagnosis -there are only a few connectors to the plug in my car, and the important FEN & TEN ain't among them...

in case anyone (still reading the forum!) can help, I have a glowplug light that flashes once the motor's warmed up -but my recon engine runs very sweet. Temp gauge rock steady at 1.00 (Mason alarm fitted); scavenger fan runs for about a minute after I shut everything else down; new set of glow plugs -those are the only pointers I know of.

Here we go then -as far as I can see the connector is OBD11 but only for the ATbox & ABS -if anyone knows anything about how/where to find Bongo engine codes, please let me know...
