No - just a duff bearing by the sound of it. I've not had the Bongo compressor off to check but sometimes it is possible to press out the old bearing and replace. Try running a search and see if this has come up before. As a temporary fix try pouring a little engine oil onto the rear of the pulley (mind fingers) in the hope of it running into the bearing and quietening it down. I once did this as a temporary fix on a noisy compressor bearing and it lasted me for 5 years
