Hopefully someone with more experience will answer, but my guess is that the output speed sensor is in the speedometer. Is your speedometer working?

Yep my speedo works prefectly, I still would like to know where it is and how to repalce it.

I think it's right at the back of the gear box on top but don't quote me, just have a look from under the car. A 10mm bolt holds it in.

From looking on google I think you are right.

Anyone know where I can purchase one?

it's a Nissan gear box so you could start there
