12V rear socket rewiring

I've searched through the previous posts about rewiring the rear socket and I can't really find an idiots guide (which is what I need).
What I'm looking to do is fit a heavier cable to the rear socket and possibly add this

to the same bit on the other side.
I've got a leisure battery fitted and a Willinton split charge kit but I need to know if it's possible to fit the other socket.
To rewire the original socket, what kind of cable do I need, is it a case of following the existing cable and do I connect it to where the original wire goes, should I have an inline fuse, do I connect it straight to the leisure battery and many many other questions.
If someone can advise me in a step by step kind of way, I should be fine
