Bongo Fury

I'm still an apprentice Bongonaut so I could really do with some advice! I want to take my five kids camping over the Summer, which means I need to fit a roof box. I contacted Thule but they tell me that they have nothing to fit a Bongo. Meanwhile, in the Bongo shop, they sell all sorts of different systems. Help!!! Who is right? My Bongo is a low top 1996 model. Does anyone know of a simple solution? There are GRP roofracks in the Bongo shop being sold for £115. Does anyone recommend them? Do they fit most roof boxes?
Loads of questions here but any response would be greatly appreciated!!!

I've printed off your step by step guide and I'm going to have a go at picking the parts up.
However, my roof doesn't look like the one in your photographs. There doesn't appear to be a channel for the bracket to sit in. There are long, thin, raised, bar-like indentations in the metal all the way from front to back (about ten of them) but they are far too insubstantial for anything to latch on to.
Do I have a problem here or have you seen this roof type before?

alant54 makes the roof racks for the bongo /tintops as well as aft. the tintop roofbars fit onto the guttering and fit any size of roofbox. i think they sell these in the bongo shop .yes they are the grp product.

I'm still getting to grips with the lingo! So, if I have a "tintop" then I need to get the GRP roofbars from the Bongo shop.

Guys the sales person you spoke to at thule was a prat. i too have a tin top(w reg) and have fitted thule roof bars (763) with foot pack (952). total cost £70 from the friendly chaps at plymouth kayaks & paddles/ roofbox Co. easy on/off with the thumb wheels so when not in use you can try and eak out a few more MPG. the bars are able to have any combo of roof box or kit you need.

These are what I have and access is excellent through the sunroof...really easy.
