So - got my new TM2 - Thanks HC and looking to fit it. Anyone got any tips or be prepared to offer suggestions for mounting the LED etc. I was thinking the small cubby above my radio (not sure how it comes out) OR in the roof of the large cubby (don't think it can be removed) directly infront of the gearshift. Any other ideas?
Also wiring in - do you need a 1amp fuse? Any good tips on running the cables etc?
I know peeps have got this bit of kit fitted and would like to benefit from experience and expertise!
Taaaaaa

This is mine...wireing is easy and as long as the Pos supply you tap into is fused (it will be)there is no need to add in a fuse. Having said that a extra fuse will do no harm.
If you want to connect in the oil pressure (orange wire) just find the oil warning light wire (under passenger seat at the front is a white plastic plug) Downside of this is you will have the alarm sounding every time you switch on till the oil light goes out. I put a switch in the orange wire so I can switch on once running.

Thanks Haydn - as for positive supply wires at which point did you find one - which colour and from where? Did you drill a hole in your cubby box for access for the wires?

Yes I drilled a hole in the back of the cubby....I also cut the "mounting wings" off the TM-2.(used double sided tape) You will find a switched live going into your radio. Check with a multi meter..probably Red or Yellow(make sure the wire you tap into only goes "live" when you turn the ignition key) any black wire should be earth to connect the Red/Black wire to.

Thanks H - did you use live on first click of the key or live when in full ignition?

First click I think but it won't matter.

This where I fitted mine
double side foam tape to hold in place. Visible to driver and passenger
Fitting the probe is another issue. I fitted mine on a rocker cover bolt, drivers side, near the engine temp sensor. If it's good enough for Mazda ... I chose here because it is away from the exhaust that has radiant as well as conductive heat and may result in a temp reading different from the engine temp.
For the wires I found a plugged hole in the LH footwell that allowed the probe through a razor slit in the rubber plug.
So far 8000Km in 10 weeks and it is working well. The only time it goes over 100C is after pulling off the freeway for whatever, probably a bongo dummy spit over having to slow down
PS you won't miss the over temp beeper

teenmal...good question...cutting the wings off....I will get back on that one. I shouldn't think so. I can supply them with a "wingless" cover at no extra charge.

I ran the cable under the carpet by the handbrake/gear shift and taped it to the metal.

Cutting the "wings" off with a little care will not affect the warranty. Either carefully remove the lid or it can be done without removal.

Well all fitted - thanks for the couple of PMs off people - I just used the radio wiring and earth and used the top smaller cubby with a hole drilled into the back - all good.
I've fitted the sensor under the second in from the left rocker box bolt on the drivers side. During my drive to work it only got up to around 70 during the ten miles - but would go up up to 90 when stopped and engine off - I think this might be because of it being above the exhaust manifold so picking up radiant heat from there, perhaps the drivers side is better and perhaps in the middle of the rocker box too.
Any other places people have used?

It's not clear from your post where you have put the sensor... The temp goes when you stop co's of heatsoak.
