hi
How often does the aircon. need servicing? I had it oiled/ gassed last year...working fine, but I wondered about servicing again this yesr.
The only thing about the Bongo, is that , whilst it has 4 speeds, none of them are that powerful.
Cheers

Hi Helen
When I worked at a motor dealership, there was no scheduled service for the aircon - if it was working, you left it alone.

Check the fan, be worth whipping it out, stripping cleaning & lubing (& the fan motor), mine blasts out now :D

Hi
Ta Franco....I had a feeling in the back of my mind that as the aircon system can lose a fair percentage of gas/oil under normal circumstances, it might be necessary to have some kind of schedule in mind.....but I think, like you say, I'll leave it a while
Kirsty...probably a good idea...the overflow never lets water on it, as I have the official Mazda bit of wire coathanger, and it gets regular clearing, but the motor could be stuffed with grongle, and need some tlc.

The moral is the old story, " If it aint broke, don't fix it" lol.

Hi David
My father always said that....but I still might tinker with the fan motor....Tony says it has always been this slow,,,,but I think all the speeds have dropped off....I'll think carefully

My air conditioner wasn't working when I bought my Bongo, and I went to have the gas refilled. (£59 :? ) and they asked me about servicing my air conditioner, they couldn't tell me how often does it needs being done, and after opening my bonnet and taking 5 minutes to find what was the air conditoner they told me that servicing it will be very expensive, because it has rear and front air conditioner and it will take a lot of time.

Obviusly that was the first Bongo they had seen, but they told me that if you refill the gas and it works then everything should be fine.

Hi Aitami
That's OK then....but don't forget they lose gas....just have it refilled when it loses efficiency...

Also remember to use your aircon for a few minutes on a regular basis - this stops the seals drying out and the gas escaping.

Hi Franco
Ah, yes...but how about that problem if you use the car , say, once or twice a month....I'm now running a car to save Bongo pothole mileage!!...maybe a max. 400Km. a month on 3 trips...how does that affect it?

Just use the aircon every time you use the Bongo (you probably need to in a Bulgarian summer anyway) - ideally it should be used once a week, but I don't use my Bongo every week either.

Hi Franco
You can't do without it in summer....we haven't got around to getting it in the house yet, but next year, maybe....
