I parked up my bongo no problem. Went back to start it a week later and it just turns over an wont start. Glowplugs OK and it will fire if cold start sprayed into the air intake. Fuel in tank but doesn't appear to be any in the pipe leading to the pump. I sucked some through from the tank via the filter so no blockage. Any ideas. I suspect it in the pump area.

Welcome to the madhouse :D
Put your approximate location in your profile - we can help more if we know where you are.
Have you loosened an injector to see if the pump is still pumping diesel through?

If you have an air lock, or wonder about the fuel delivery, try what I have just dine, disconect the pipe that goes from the carb to the pumt (at the pump end) use a funnel and put cooking oil or very clean diesel in the pipe, Holding the pipe stright up try starting the engine. Top up the funnel in the pipe a couple of times and it should start IF the problem was fuel starvation.

A carburettor on a diesel engine? Now there's a novelty :)

thanks . I put a pipe on the fuel inlet to the pump and held it up in the air into a jar of diesel.the pump sucked in the diesel and engine started. I noticed diesel coming out of the return system on one of the ejectors and found the nut loose. Hopefully this will fix the problem but I need to leave if for a few days to see if it still starts.

I had a new head fitted a month ago so I guess they never tightened the nut of the return system enough. Probably leaving it over a couple of weeks allowed the diesel to drain out of the system and create an airlock
Fingers crossed it will be alright
