Bongo Fury

Our Stourport trip was cut short by the downpour which happened on the Saturday morning.
I needed a hangover cure (Jack Daniels vs Karaoke) so we went to Kidderminster to find the holly grail of cures - the sausage n egg mcmuffin!!!. So we parked up and scoffed said cure and then noticed that from the blind behind the drivers seat there was a mini niagra falls. The rain was pouring in.

We managed to coller DBO back at the site and as usual he gave some great advise. The guttering in the sunroof can become clogged and prevents the rain from draining away. We were advised to use some curtain wire to try and force any muck out from the draining holes. Wahla, Kirk managed to remove all kinds of muck from the draining holes and they are working fine now!!

Only problem now is the massive stain from dirty rain water inside the roof and down the pannels but hey, no more indoor showers.

This is something that anyone with a sunroof should always check, they all have drain holes that very few people check or even realize are there. Most people assume that a sunroof seals completely from the top, not so, there is a gutter that as you guys found out the wet way gets blocked, the same as the centre drain under the windscreen. How many old cars have you seen with gaffer tape or silicone sealant around the sunroof? Not necessary, just clear the drain on a regular basis. Hopefully others can learn from your misfortune Jaime & Kirk.
Hopefully some uphostlery cleaner/foam or even gentle use of a carpet/upholstery cleaning machine may help with the staining, just be careful not to be too aggressive as the headlining material is quite delicate & will "bobble".

is this true with the AFT sunroof, or is that simply a glued in place glass panel?

Oh and well done DBO - the man's a legend. Maybe we need to carve a legends rock in the hills above Stourport. Something like:
