Team Muz 'Bongo Tours' Phase 2
We’re back from phase 2 of ‘BongoTours’ and can report that the Bongo was spot-on yet again. The Le Mans 24 hours was a cracking event, a huge French crowd was hoping Peugeot would win for them, alas Audi stuffed them yet again.
Our ferry – Dover to Boulogne-sur-Mer
Sardines? – And why is there always a dodgy VW camper on board?
Lunch-stop just south of Rouen
We’re there and set up!
The English abroad
Where’s the Firework Safety Officer when you need one?
Then off to see if we could break the lap record…..
At Tertre Rouge corner
On the famous Mulsanne Straight
On one of the Mulsanne chicanes
On the section from Arnage to Porsche Curves
Question – How do you pick out your Bongo on a crowded campsite?
Answer……
Easy!
Overall it was a great week. It was all about……
Winning
Losing
Tireless effort….
…..for 24 hours
Croissants for breakfast
Beer
Food
Icecreams
Being a little closer to nature than during the normal routine….
….and having a great time through the night
Chilling on the way home
You know you’re nearly home!
Dover castle
Phase 3 involves the Jrs

It looks like you had a great time but I feel I need to ask;
Why did your windbreak have holes in?

Great pics Muz!... I like the pics of the sailor boys sat on those old choppers especially... It brought back many a painful memory of hitting the front brake too hard, then sliding off the front of the seat straight onto the gearshifter
Loved the pics of the bongo on the track...brill!

The 'windbreak' was formerly on a roadworks in Essex, allegedly
There were some downs to counter those photos, like getting done by the friendly gendarmes, no doubt part of the French Tourist Board, as we negotiated Boulogne and failed to completely stop at a 'Stop' sign - but our 22 Euro fine wasn't too bad compared to the 2,250 Euro fine for one of our team for being drunk in possession of a mechanically propelled vehicle - no sympathy from us on that one.
We've just received notification of a record-breaking BeerMountain as well - a truly stunning effort....

A pal who went to LM for the 2nd time this year posted this pic on another site.
It was taken from the top of the Ferris Wheel just after dark, I think it captures the scene beautifully.
I'm sure he won't mind me sharing it.

That's difficult getting night shots from there, the wheel never properly stops! - we took our campsite shots from the wheel.
The other evocative place for night shots is the end of the pit straight, getting the Dunlop bridge with some blurred cars...
