Hi All,
I havn't posted in ages as all was well untill a few months ago.
Bongo now has no mot and parked in drive looking sad.
We now have a rumble from the front end, it has been getting worse over the last few months and I don't know what it is.
both front wheel bearings were replaced about 15'000 miles ago, if you jack the front up the front wheels turn freely without noise and have no play.
No sign of wear in front prop u/j's although prop support bearing could not be checked as the prop can't be turned with just the front wheels jacked.
How can you check for diff or prop poblems, do you have to get all the wheels of the ground

Cheers
Paul

Hi,
Its quite possible that the noise you hear is originating from somewhere else.
Does the rumbling stop or increase if you corner hard,or brake.

Could be the tyres too, Some tyres as they wear, display a buckling of the sidewall, this can manifest itself asa rumble in some cases, as can slightly warped discs, or even a hub that hasn't been cleaned properly prior to the fitting of new discs...

if you jack one front wheel you should be able to turn the front prop.
if it takes some effort to rotate wheel it should mean the viscous coupling is NOT seized.
if you can't turn it no matter what then probably a VC problem, which could cause noise in front diffs etc.
I'm no expert but it's another starting point.
