Whats the thing under the accelerator pedal do??
I've noticed it has a clockwise arrow & the word lock written on it when i was crawling around under the dash fitting me various bits of gadgetry.

Curiosity got the better of me today & i gave it a counter clockwise twist & it came off...
It appears to be capping a nozzle type thing underneath... :-k

... I hope i haven't let the air out of me Bongo!

hi,
i also pulled mine off once.no problem though.i thought it was some kind of speed restrictor, stopping the pedal travelling too far,but it`s so thin it`d hardly have any effect.
anyone know?
thanks
jamie

It is just a spare part used by mazda for the throttle stop, from their parts bin, see thread on here somewhere. The wording means nothing in the context of our bongos :)

I have the definitive answer to this query... It's a wallet lightening mechanism, every time the rear of the throttle touches this disc, diesel is magically consumed by the bongo at an alarming rate, resulting in many depletions of the paper fold in one's wallet....magic!

Funny thing is, i had a similar thing in the drivers foot well of a MK1 Escort estate years ago...
It worked the screen washers!
