Help accidently put £3.30 of Petrol in my Diseal Bongo realised and then topped it up with 16.50 of diseal it drove ok home with no problems, have been told it should be ok as it was only a small amount of petrol and it was diluted with a larger quantity of diseal would adding some diseal additive help? any advice would be gratefully received

I would brim it with diesel, it has happened before to other members of the forum with no adverse effects

but at these prices, thats only around 3 litres, which I would say, with a full tank of diesel is just like an additive anyway. You never know, it might even help to clean the fuel system.

That amount of petrol won't do any harm but, as Rob says, fill her up with diesel.

Yep the best advice if that ever happens is to put in as much Diesel as possible.
It used to be standard practice to add 10% petrol in winter to help prevent waxing of the diesel when the weather was really cold.

I would whack about 5 litres of rapeseed in, that would defo dilute the petrol.

As above...
Fill a diesel, let it go half way & fill again.
You've done no real harm...

Glad to see Mrs Munkey isn't the only one to do that. At least you realised pretty quick. Mrs M stuffed £40 of 97 octane on top of about 10l of diesel last week.
Still, no harm done after a flush, despite initial panic.
I'm sure you'll be fine.

Just drive it..... I travelled back from West Wales on half and half (Petrol and diesel - not rice and chips) with no probs other than a fuel that had no go in it....and a wife biting her tongue about my cock-up ( lovely and quiet) I noticed i was putting in petrol after a while, stopped ,put diesel in thinking ahh it was only a fiver or so it will be ok ....to be told at the counter it was thirty. It just felt like half power, i didnt rev too high took it easy on the motorway and tried not to labour it too much. Filled it up when i had used about half of the mixture and then ran it till almost empty and then filled back up again, no complaints from the car other than low power temp was ok etc....so i now have a triple fuel bongo....must try water next............

I put £55 of petrol into my diesel Bongo a few weeks ago.
It stopped in the third lane of the M62.
Cost me £150 (after calling in a few favours)
Running nicely now on 60/40 diesel/Costco oil.
Don't do it again!

Costco oil dave? The KTC stuff? What do you think of their oil? I haven't tried it yet, but my boss reckons it's industry known not to cook with it...dunno what it'd be like in my bongo's engine though? I don't like the sound of the e900 anti foaming agent for some reason...
