Grimsby to Manchester

Which routes best? and distance between? roughly.
Might be paying a visit to Walkden, whilst camping in Grimsby.

or else SatNav could guide you. Although it might be nice to take a scenic route (say through the High Peaks in Derbyshire) the Bongo is at its most economical cruising at 60-65 mph on open roads. That may influence your decision.

Does sat nav always take you the best way? you can not beat local knowledge. As for eco driving, due to the price of veggie oil, catching up with diesel, my right foot seems to have lost some weight
(must try to get the rest of my body to do the same.

I've found SatNav has been right more times than I care to admit. It will probably advise the same as blobber, and that route is almost certainly the most economical and quickest. I always wish I could make that journey more scenic (hate the M62) but it wouldn't arf cost you in time and diesel

I borrowed the Father-in-laws Tom Tom to check out local roads in our area, gave some very strange routes in certain areas, It could not find the Goosewood site at the weekend, no wonder it has sat in its box for 2 years- now where is my road Atlas

Could not do without tomtom, but only when away, as it's not needed around here.
I own a few A-Z's for the places I've been, (1st call is to the first newsagents/filling station found, for a street map) but the only problem was, not having a co-driver who could read maps.

Mine is only 6 months old, so I connect online to "TomTom HOME" now and again, to get the free updates, whilst available. Don't know yet, if I will bother paying for updates next year.
