Replacement Steering Wheel?

Hi there,
The steering wheel on my 98 Ford Freda is very nasty, the foam has come loose around the wheel.
My current wheel has an airbag and centre horn push. I know I can get aftermarket wheels, but these don't come with an airbag.
I was thinking about seeing if a steering wheel from a more modern Ford would fit, such as a Focus or Mondeo?
Does anyone know if they will fit, or better still has anyone done something similar.
Thanks in anticipation.
Rob

According to the Bongo archives, the only other steering wheel that will fit is from a 1992 Mazda 626.

Take a very small drill eg 1/16" or there abouts, drill into the foam on the reverse side of the wheel where the foam is slipping
( no need to remove wheel)
Take a new small bottle of suitable glue... Isocyanate instant glue/ locktite etc
Inject up the hole and massage the wheel around.
30seconds later the wheel foam is fixed and as good as new.
it works as I've done it to mine and the small hole does not intefere with the grip/ feel of the wheel
Good luck

I purchased a nice steering wheel cover from Halfords, they have a really good selection.

...great idea. Stating the obvious I know (but best said than missed) - remember that (most types of) superglue are very runny and will dribble back out and mark the steering wheel, glue your hand to the botle etc. etc. unless you drill the hole such that you are dribbling the glue by gravity into the hole.
Must admit, my wheel is a bit like that but I've got so used to it I don't even notice. And I'm not a compulsive steering wheel twister (which it has been suggested many Jap drivers - stress balls etc. - are and that has caused the problem)
