Bongo Fury

Just been thiniing having read most of the topics on the over heating points i have a Question.
As i pick my Bongo up at the end of the month i want to make sure i get here home safe and sound,
But in the back of my head all i keep think of is the over heating
The bongo i have dos'nt look like it has had any problems before and the filler tank is clear.
SO to be on the safe side
What should i look for?

Where would the TEMP needle be is it was safe (or does this vary from Bongo to Bongo)?

Needle should stay around the 11 o'clock position. If it goes up past the half way mark STOP & check the coolant level straight away (taking care when opening the cap of course . . )

the bongo temp gauge is not reliable enough. get yourself a mason alarm that goes onto your temp gauge, it will then read more accurately (usually about 2 o'clock position, but it does move about ) and the alarm will let you know if the engine temp has gone up.

another thing to fit is the haydn's coolant alarm, and this will tell you if your losing coolant before you cook your engine.

Forgot to mention when i wa viewing the bongo i asked if i could let her tick over for a while they said not a problem
i had it ticking over for 45 mins LOL
the fans came on no problem and the needle was about 1/4 of the way up and never moved
Hope this is a good sign

Ye i will be getting an alarm when i get back.
I was going to buy before i get there and fit it there but just a bit unsure how long it will take to fit as im not will on the bongos yet.
