untill this week our fuel gauge dropped to empty with the ignition turned off,now it stays at the level in the tank.
appears to work normally apart from this.
done a search and it seems that some bongos do read the level with the ignition off.
any concensus on this? 8)

Mine drops when off.

Infact - blasting down a motorway at 90 plus has pretty much the same effect!

The fuel gauge should read the level with the ignition switched off. Sounds like you need to earth your fuel sender. Missfixit has a post on here showing you where it is. Quiet a common fault with Bongos.
Easy to rectify.

Yea and it is easy to do as well, just remember as a safeguard make a second earth with a screw and a cleaned body area as a back up.

Mine stays when switch off. If I fill with oil, it does not show the increase, until ignition is switch on.

My gauge shows the fuel level with ignition off.
