Anybody know what this is off? I found it under the bonnet after replacing my battery, and would this cause a rattling sound when I go over 50mph because it is not fitted?
sorry have not worked out how to attach an image so will try my best to describe: its black plastic about3mm thick and measures about 18" x 9"
the shape is like two rectangles on top of eachother it has two 12mm holes which are about5" away from eachother

mine rattles, or did anyway, but I don't think I had heard it...... I just pushed a bit of pipe insulation in the gap between the plate and the battery, which sort of pushed it tight against the air intake.....
maybe try that, see if it stops the rattle first

Heres where and how mine it situated:-
In this one you can see how the two holes are for plastic studs, to connect to the air intake for the heater.

Hi Leon,
Mine came loose, it was attached by only one of the original fixings.. (which was just about holding it in place).
I got some similar panel fixings from Hellfrauds,(the type with the cross head screws in) but the diameter was still to small..
I pushed the fixing into a cavity wall plug to increase diameter, eased into place then fixed in the cross head that came with it to push the whole thing tight...
It goes no where now!
To be honest, i wouldn't think this would cause the rattling you can hear...
I only noticed mine loose during routine maintenance.
