Hi there,

Does anyone know if you need to remove the under trays on the V6 to change the oil and filter. I suspect you do. If so is there clearance to get the trays off without jacking the car up?

Hi, I suspect you don't. I am yet to do mine myself but have had a look downunder. Everything is the same as the information in fact sheet on oil and filter change for the diesel. The nuts accessible and the filter can be reached from under the passenger seat.

I'll take a look tomorrow. I just have this feeling that although the filter is in a similar place, there weren't the cut out's in the sheild to access that or the drain plug. Hope I'm wrong as the shield is pretty big, watched it being removed and refiited a couple of weeks ago which made me wonder if it really had to come off.

I found no cut outs on undertray so off it came

Thanks, did you have to raise the car up on ramps or did it come off as is?

BTW I looked yesterday and there is a cut out for the oil draining, but the filter cannot easily be access from the top due to things in the way, and beneth I think is too hard as well.

hi,
i have a square cutout on the undertray on my v6,for undoing the sump plug,and i managed to remove the oil filter by crawling under the passenger side and reaching through .

apole,my tappets are still the same.i got them much much better by doing a flush and oil/filter change,then putting some additive in.then i got impatient and did another flush/change,and to me they sound almost as noisy as before.i may have dislodged some sludge in the engine that has found its way under a valve and making it stick again,or something like that.

Yes' i just raised it a bit dropped the lot and pushed it forward just enough to get to what i needed, don't own ramps axle stands for me and the scissor jack my trolly jack dont lift it high enough. Must invest in a pair of ramps
