Bongo Fury

Hi guys,

Been reading posts here on moving things over to the leisure battery.

Thinking of buying a fuse box holder kit from ebay, something like:

Looking at the fusebox in the members area, I was thinking of moving the usual suspects over such as the blinds, interior and cigarette lighters.

Question, has anyone moved over the lifting roof? from the fact sheet looks like the fuse is rated at 30amps which the above kit can do (so long as that's the only thing running at the time).

Also wondering about moving over the side door closer as this tends to get opened and closed a lot when you are camping.

I just did Pippin's wiring mod for the lights, lighter sockets etc - dead easy and virtually free.
Why would you want to change the roof wiring? The engine should be running when you raise the roof and it's not exactly put up and down a lot - unless you want to go out for a trip, in which case the engine is running again.
I didn't bother with the side door and have never had any problems, but it tends to be open most of the time so no current is used.

Thanks for the info. Not sure on the roof and door, like you say you have to have the engine running for the roof anyway.

Just paranoid I guess about the car battery getting drained when we camp for a few days with no hook up.

I guess it's not worth doing those items when I think about it.

I think maybe paranoia comes with the Bongo If I was going for more than a weekend with no hook-up, I usually run the engine or drive to the shops, to give it a boost - it's amazing what a half hour drive can do for the energy levels

I wouldn't worry too much about the amount of energy used to power the sliding doors auto close facility,i reckon it uses less power than the central locking.

I went for pippins wiring into the fusebox too, radio/mirrors,cig lighters,etc... (gotta get round to wiring in the blinds)

I have to wire mine up on Friday, and it will be lights (interior), sockets and blinds. I may well rewire the rear power socket too as I gather they are a bit iffy

I certainly would not put the roof on the leisure battery for the same reasons as already stated - I did figure that the door would not take much power, and I can't see it being opened and closed that much anyway.

We have our first camping trip in it this weekend
