Hi, we got our Bongo 3 weeks ago and have managed 2 camping trips, but have had a bit of bother with the roof getting stuck when fully open. Both times it happened after really windy nights. There was no sound of the motor even trying to close it. We only got it down after actually moving the Bongo- first time we only need to move it a couple of feet but the second time we had to move about 20 feet. The mechanism does sound a bit noisy so wonder if we should be lubricating it- but don't know how.
thanks,
ailish

you do know the handbrake has to be fully on to lower the roof. and a bit of lube will do no harm.

If it happens again then manually push the roof up as the button is pressed and see if that works the motor.
Maybe the microswitch on the roof mechanism is sticky - do a search - there's plenty bumf in there...............
Oh, and welcome

The same thing happened to me twice - absolutely no idea why

The first time was at a meet and several of us tried. We couldn't get the motors undone, to lower the roof manually, so I tried the switch again and it worked

Second time was in my drive at home - it was getting dark so I left it overnight - it worked straight away in the morning

Never had any problems since.

thanks for all the advice- it may have been the handbrake to blame- we really are novices!
But will get it lubricated and hope it only happens to us twice, thanks again, ailish.
