Bongo Fury

Wanting to checking the spare tyre pressure I found the valve was inaccessible.
Can the spare be suspended on its pulley with the valve side facing downwards towards the ground?
There is also a thumping noise(from the rear) if the road surface is broken. I have inspected under the rear of my Bongo and nothing seems loose.
What is likely to be causing this banging?

I no longer have my spare but I do recall the valve being downwards on mine so I guess it should be possible.

Maybe worth you carrying a tin of holts tyreweld as well, this is one of the few tyre sealants that can be used and the tyre still repaired afterwards (presuming it's a small repair and it's safe to do so). I have this and an electric tyre inflator.

The banging is hard to say, could it be the exhaust or maybe even the spare tyre?

Have you checked there is nothing loose inside the car. What about in the locker where the jack is kept?

firstly if its the original skinny spare tyre , DUMP IT its not safe 12 year old rubber. you can get a full size spare wheel under the car ,as for the bumping one option may be the spare wheel not tight enough underneath.
