Hi,

I've searched the threads on the different types of cruise control.

What is the general opinion on the Weaco MS50 compared to the MS400, is the 400 worth the extra money. I can't really see what the differences are on the Weaco web site.

This is to fit a V6 petrol bongo, it has a mechanical throttle.

I think most of us have the m50 which was £50.00 quid on e bay, I am still waiting to get mine installed, hopefully not to long to wait, there is a very good fact sheet on fitting it too. Happy motoring.

Basically, I think they all do the same sort of thing, so I wouldn't bother with the top of the range model. All models can be fitted with a seperate control stalk by the steering column, but Waeco dont list the part no. for the one to fit MS50 now.

Key difference between V6 & the diesel would be the location of the the vacuum take off. The diesel engine has as seperate pump with a handy take off point in front of the cambelt. For the petrol engine, you may have to fit a T-piece to the brake servo feed. The kit comes with all the fittings you would need.

It's a very useful addition to the Bongo, but dont forget to tell your insurance company as it would be considered as a modication. They may ask for an engineers report to confirm correct installation.

Vaccuum take off no problem on the V6, there are places to easily tap into on that front.

I'll hit ebay then and try and find one.

Factsheet is a "work in progress" thing that needs the images compressing before I can pass it on to Ian. In the meantime, I can mail you the 5Mb doc.

If you don't mind spending the money then the AP550 from Conrad Anderson is a top notch item. I've had one for a few years and moved it from 4 different vehicles usuing different control stalks. Best of all it has an electric motor instead of vacuum control. It is tuneable to the vehicle too. Now have it in the Bongo and it made the run from Doncaster to Southampton and back yesterday a joy. I recommend, even at the price it is.

I really feel that i need cruise control on my bongo as i always get a sore right calf muscle on long trips. Been looking for one on Ebay and cant find a thing for less that £100, where can i get one for £50.

you can't now as the Euro has gone through the roof. they used to be about £80 inc. postage from Germany. Now they are around £100 all in.
