battery charger

i want to be able to charge my leisure battery when on hookup as fridge and stuff run from the leisure directly - i know with a btter zig unit this could be changed but i reckon this solution would be far cheaper and easier. Therefore i suppose i want a battery charger which charges at a reasonable rate but wont over charge etc as it will be permanently connected when hookup supply is active.
does anyone do this already and if so can any makes / models be recommended ?
depending on price i may get one from fleabay 2nd hand
any help appreciated

I do that. I just use a normal 8A charger that I bought years ago - the output drops as the batteries are charged.

so its feasible then ?
i assume so long as i get a charger of around 8A if it has over carge protection everything should be hunky dory ?

Have a look at these on eBay - item no. 160223874115
I've bought a couple from him - fast service, and good English - and a bargain!!

yamaha - looks interesting - not much info on the ebay auction but i assume it would do the job ?
is it easy to fit ? any indicators on it to show current charge etc ?
only issue i can see is that it says it charges to 100ah but a leisure battery is 110 ah ?

I use a standard car battery charger that has two settings: boost and trickle charge. The output varies according to the state of charge of the battery, so I just leave it n the higher setting - no problems so far. And much cheaper than a Zig.

Just remember you may have to pay HMRC when it arrives.
