Which Antifreeze?

Which brand of coolant/antifreeze is everyone using?

I've had to order a Radiator as mine is seeping at the top where the plastic meets the metal lugs, which are not locking over the plastic lip, like they are elsewhere on the rad. :?

So I will need to top up, and bleed (really looking forward to that!!) once I replaced the rad. (thanks Harry for the fact sheet)

Just now my coolant is a bright Green, so I believe I will need the same again. Does anyone know which brand uses Green?

Also from the fact sheet I see there is a mention of a gear oil hose? Is that for automatics only? (mines a manual) As all I can see on my original rad is.....top hose to engine, top hose to tank, and bottom hose to engine.

Cheers.

If you're replacing the rad, you'd be daft not to flush through the system & replace with fresh coolant IMO, in which case it won't matter what flavour

Cheers, I was thinking that, but I am hoping to do a full flush and fill if I get a full set of replacement hoses in a few weeks from flippa (the complete set is not in stock as we speak), as for the rad it needs changing asap. :(

Furrynuf Brora  , I'd just drain the coolant into a container, filter & reuse until the hose change then.

I used the longlife pink/red stuff ( i got a good deal on it) The chap at the motor factors said that all the different coloured anti-freeze' were compatible with each other. Though i'd rather not mix and match personally.

That's fair enough brora, like for like....

All different coloured anti freeze is glycol based anyway, the different colours mainly denotes the other properties in the anti freeze.

The pink/red stuff i used was overkill for the application really,as bongo coolant needs replacing every two years anyway...
