hi all,
my new bongo has had the speedo chipped and also counts up in miles, not kilometres, but the odometer says 80,000,but as i have only done a hundred miles since it was imported,i`d like to change that to around 50,000 miles.can i do this easily, and leghally?is there anything i can fit to a battery drill perhaps, and do it that way?
thanks
jamie

as long as it shows the actual milagage its ok
remove the speedo and put a small screwdriver between the dials at the rear of the speedo
prise them gently apart and the will spin indipendently just set them to the correct milage and put back together simple realy
while you have it out replace it with a speedo from a 626 or mx6 and no need for the chip

Have you had the Bongo BIMTA'd on import (£20 fee)? If not you can't guarantee the mileage and to fiddle or refiddle may make you negligent.
I'd say keep it as it is. My odometer reads in kms and I am happy with that. Divide by 8 and multiply by 5.
Your start base would be 80,000km (minus 100 miles done since import) and then it would be miles.
Go for the BIMTA now

This dividing would it be long division or short division
