Cyclinder head leaking slightly???

Hi all,
I have noticed for a while now that when I check my oil there is a bit of oil around the back few nuts on the cyclinder head. I cleaned it off last time but its back again? Im not overheating or losing excessive oil, everything seems fine I just doubt that oil should be leaking from these nuts. It seems to be from the nuts rather than the gasket area as the oil residue is on the top of the head above the gasket. Could it be the nuts arent sealed properly, should I be really worried????
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Many Thanks
Ramsey.

Probably the rocker top gasket is leaking a tad. If it's any consolation mine does it as well. I don't consider it bad enough to finding a replacement just yet.

Mine too, wouldn't worry too much, if it bothers you, then change it, may just be slack nuts? a couple of mine were a bit slack, just tightened them up a tad, made quite a difference.

I had exacly the same experience and cure as Kirsty (missf.) Since I cleaned off the oil with gunk, no more has appeared. I gently tightened the rocker cover (not cylinder head - that's a completely different issue) nuts in the area just a little. I recall being told of old you have to be careful with allow rocker covers like the Bongo (in my day the old BMC engines had pressed steel covers and alloy was novel) as you can crack them if you tighten them unevenly and/or overtighten them. Also, unless they are tightened in the right sequence and with balanced tightening they.....wait for it......leak! Hmmmmm

Turbo may be forcing a small amount of oil out of the air inlet manifold joint/s too, hardly noticeable but gets blown everywhere

As ever you lot are awesome! Thanks for your very prompt replies, reassuring stuff. I take it the rocker is the bit at the topof the engine?

I noticed today whilst doing my glowplugs that the whole of the engine block, and only the block, looks a bit wet. Does look more like oil than water. I'll will be keeping an eye on my levels more regular then usual.
