Have just gone to fit my 110 ah leisure battery under the bonnet only to find that it does not fit. It is to tall and long. Size of battery is 345x175x235mm.

Could anyone plase tell me the make of a 110 ah battery that will fit in the space? I have looked on the internet and can only find 110 ah with the domensions above.

I beleive I have the correct tray as there is a tray fitted with a boster battery in place. The tray is bigger then the booster battery at around 335mm long.

Bit of a panic as it needs its lesure battery for Thu as it is having work done on it?

Cheers

that's the same dimensions as my leisure battery ,Bosch 110 ah , it is a tight fit but it will fit under the lip of the wing,(well mine does).
you have to dip the side under the wing first then slide it in ,the bonnet stay gets in your way so get some help to keep the bonnet open, the batteries are bloody heavy.

I use a Numax 110Ah (green plastic case) as its the one that Bongo owner and ebay vendor Willinton gives as the biggest that will fit using the leisure battery tray he makes for Bongos

I echo echo echo dbo's advice, if you are using the obligatory "willington" battery tray, the boshe 110 should fit, if indeed it's of the same dimensions... a bit of twiddling is involved to get the battery to fit,but it can be done....

You haven't left something under the tray before you fitted it did you? You really do have only a mm or so to spare,if you fitted a few washers under the tray, the battery won't fit....

I already have a pretty large tray where the lesure battery goes (currently in the van as cold start battery is fitted). However, in trying to fit the 110 ah leisure battery the top of the battery was well above the lip of the wing.

Does this mean I need to but a leisure battery tray. Surely if a leisure battery tray can fit in the space then I should be able to alter the tray I have.

A well known Bongo sales place told me the largest leisure battery that will fit is an 85ah. So I have now...stupidly....ordered an 85 ah battery of ebay and took my 110 ah back to the shop!!!

the tray's me and bdc bought might be wider and so the battery fits closer to the bulkhead ,if you see what i mean and not toward the front. maybe the tray you have has a lip on it that can be bent down, then maybe it will fit under the lip of the wing.

As you can see, it's quite cramped under there, but just fits....

As dave says, perhaps the willington tray is a bit wider, meaning that the l/b will sit further back?
