Left hand indicator

Hi Bongo Furies, I wanter to convert my indicator stalk to the left. After spending most of a day trying to turn it up side down, I gave up. I then went basic and simply clamped a length of bent 10mm copper pipe to the indicator stalk. The pipe goes over the top of the steering column, ending just above the wiper switch, and it works a treat. The dip switch also works, but in reverse.

Patience, you will get used to it after a while. I have a Jeep Cherokee with the turn indicator on the left side whilst the Bongo's turn indicator is on the right side. After not using one vehicle or another for a few days I quite often get them mixed up. But once settled in on a journey I rarely make this mistake again.

OilyJeans, don't worry, you are not the only one.
I regularly wash my windscreen whilst letting people out of junctions, cross the road ,etc.
I will never get used to it, as my work van is a Connect and only drive my Bongo occasionally, usually weekends.
You will get by though.

Its funny because I manage fine with indicating and wipers except when flashing people when I also wash the windscreen. No time to think?

Hi

When flashing use both switch stalks just in case.

I saw a Mazda 323 or 626 in the local scrapie the other week & they looked like the same stalks, but with the indicator on the left.

I quite often have the flashing problem in my partners Micra when screen washing. (having bin used to the Bongo).
They either wave back just in case the know me, or slow down thinking an inpending speed trap!

Many thanks

Thanks, for all the encouraging replies. This is the second time I am writing a reply, not sure where the first one went. Unfortunately I've only got one arm so I really do need a left indicator, luckily my piece of pipe clamped on does work OK. I fitted it last August and it is working a treat. Oilyjeans
