Could someone please help. I need to change a front wheel bearing. Is this a job for a garage or has anyone do it before? i.e. are presses needed to get the old one out of the hub and the new one in ?

have not done wheel bearings but recently ours(P reg) needed new cv joint boots and i was unable to get the hub apart.
i gave up and booked it in to my local garage-they eventually took the drive shaft out for the diff end to do it.
you may not have the same trouble though-guess it comes down to what tools and time you have.
best of luck

Thanks it looks like a garage job then unless anyone has done it themselves

As I haven't done this myself Geoff, I can't say for certain but looking at the exploded diagram it would appear that the outer wheel bearing is a press fit. To 'drift' it out would need access from the back of the steering knuckle and if troublesome could require removal of the steering knuckle to gain access. Not a 5 minute job but if you have the time and inclination it should be do-able without having to take it into a garage. Unless of course someone who is more in the know can counter that......
