Has anybody got air suspension bags fitted to their Bongo (or other machine)

I'd welcome any info :)

My mates older 5 series beemer estate has air bags on the rear which automatically level the back end. Didn't realise till he heard the compressor in the boot chuntering away one day. he lugs a lot of gear and says it pretty good. Don't know anything else about it though.
I used to fit truck/trailer axles and suspension. Really simple idea, I'm surprised it's not used more widely

Maybe?! - I have a compressor and the Bongo goes up and down when I work the switches - haven't even looked to see how it works though

I'm just in the process of ordering a set of Airlift bags from the States but thought I'd check on here first to see if anyone had anything................

Dandy if you mean air assisted suspension then I thought that you knew that I had Firestone CoilRite Air Spring Assisters fitted to my bongo. Don't have the modification that allows them to go up and down at a flick of the switch as Franco's do, have to use a pump and pressure tester on mine. If you want to crawl underneath my bongo to have a look when you are at my place after the tough northerners bash then feel free. Will try and park the bongo in the muddiest place I can find.

Jeez - the ol' memory's getting worse Tony - I forgot you told me you had them. I'll have a look sometime soon - mud - no problem, my days doing trials sorted me that way

BTW - what pressure do you run them? and do they poke out through the springs or is the carcass stiff enough to stop that?

Cheers :)

This is the one that does the job.

Pressure varies with load. will have to pump them up again for Cartmel.

I have a set on a ex AA VWT4 - dont know much about them, but they do help when carrying a load. These are manual inflation . The VW lot are always lowering and pimping the vans, and I think the airbags generally get chucked (maybe on ebay?) - worth a look. I dont know how interchangeable they are though.

Yep, I've seen that one thanks Chris - the Bongo kit is £158.
