what size bolts can i use for a roof rack

i thought it was 8mm, but i saw some people on ebay selling roofbars and they said the fittings were 6mm, im confused?

I'm not an expert, but got some M4s from Halfords and they fit perfectly

Are you asking what size the hole in the AFT roof is Para?
