I found the thick yellow was the start wire.
If you carefully remove the binding and unclip the clips, you can get decent access to it.

It only provides 12v when ignition is switched isn't that all your alarm needs to read?

Hi Great pretender thanks for info.. The info is req for alarm and remote start / starter cut out, the alarm requires all the positions identified for full functions to work, thats why i req not just an ignition feed.... many thanks Rich

If I was trying to determine the wiring, I would first of all find the main feed to the ignition switch.
Then I would disconnect the big connector and apply a voltage to the contact on the plug, on the ignition switch side.
With the big connector still disconnected, I could then determine which wire went live in what position of the key. This would determine, what does what.
Hope that helps in some way?

Brilliantly simple Karl, like a knife through butter, but have you done a risk assessment of kneeling down, head under steering wheel? can you do it with your hard hat on, safety glasses, knee pads, exclusion zone?

pmsl.....All carried out at work...believe it or not.
Hence, kneeling pads/mats, installers trousers, (with no external zips), baseball cap type bump hat, handlamp (LED).
If anyone requires a simple diagram of what I have tried to explain above, let me know, I may be able to knock one up?

oooh thers never a dull moment on this web site .. i bought a wiring diagram off the club shop in the summer to sort a problem out. Put the disk away after use in the racking and come to run it up and it could not read the disk..? i am not sure on the construction but i think a veg based oil is used ? to look at the disk , not a scratch or blemish, but its sort of run between the top coat of the disk, if you press your finger on it it can be pushed around the disk between the laminations ? very strange ?? hence no wiring diagram otherwise i could have nailed it in 10 seconds flat ... looks like my multimeter got to come out.... anyway thanks again for all your help Rich
