faulty rear lights

Hi i am having problems with the flourecent tube in the rear when i switch it to ON it comes on but when switched to door it doesent work when i open the sliding door . Is it a bad earth ? if so how do you rectify it any ideas.

Check the door switch on the door post. Its behind the sliding door when opened fully.
Two 10mm Bolts, carefully remove, then see if the connector has fell off?
If not, try getting a piece of wire and run it direct to a good earth, then to the wire on the switch.
If that does not make it work, then run the wire to the earth side of the light fitting.....process of elimination.
Various checks to be done, but try those first, they are the easy ones.

could even be easier than that, in the bad weather the light contact pin has been sticking on the sliding door, just sprayed it with silicone spray and its working again.

Which one?
Do you mean one of the 4 contacts towards the front of the door? on the 'B'post

hi carl,
i mean the one thats near the rear of the door mounted in the rear quarter. just a standard push contact.
