ok, first mot is on its way so my bongo is going to go in for some tlc, i know the rear drop links need doing (Advisory on the last mot) so ive ordered some drop links, bushes and brackets to get the whole lot done at the same time.
Im also thinking about getting the alternator, ac belts done and also the timing belt while im at it.

what would be a good price on labour for all this work to be done? dont want to get stung

cheers

Unless they hit problems with rusty / seized nuts, the droplinks should be v quick indeed. You can help them by spraying relevant nuts (drop links and people usually do anti roll bar bushes at the same time so recommend get bits and spray all nuts).

Similarly, for a garage, alternator belts shouldn't be too tricky. And I'm told cam belts aren't either though I suspect labour / time will be less for a garage familiar with Bongos (can madmile advise on one reasonably near?).

Labour cost? Now that's putting me on the spot. How about £200 tops (£150 for local garage familiar with Bongos) for openers and lets see what corrections others make to that figure. 8)

Just had the rear droplinks and bushes replaced today, labour cost £45.00 and that included picking up bongo from work and delivering back again, so no time off work

Yea, but the economy in Yorkshire is completely different. Nobody earns anything and nobody spends anything.

Sh*t - can't believe I just said that. I'm a dead man :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

But seriously though, before I'm found face down in a gutter with Pete, Waynes and Mike's (well everyone's really) boot imprints all over my head, £45 for droplinks might fit with the forecast. Belts may take longer, cambelt certainly will I'd have thought. £150-200 wouldn't sound too far off I reckon - with luck 8)
