Bongo Fury

front washer does not work. no idea which fuse it is so i checked them all. hoses appear on under the bonnet and wipers and rear washer and wiper is fine. i cant hear any noise when i hit the lever so i think it must be getting no power.

any ideas how to tackle it??

It's fuse 15 (second from right on second row - 20A) - rear wipers are on a different fuse.

i already checked all the fuses but i shall make a note of that one on my list. the front wipers do work its only the washer has stopped.
if its not the fuse and the wipers are working what should i go for next?

Process of elimination using voltmeter and making direct power connection to the washer pump to see if its dead? Where is the washer pump - blowed if I know

It's just the time of year you need the washer's to pack up n' all...

As Mike suggests, short of checking obvious plugs etc,it's gonna be one of those times the old multimeter needs to be dug out,i can't see the front washers having it's own dedicated fuse really ron,it sounds like the motor has either packed up, or there is a problem with the wiring,or even with the wiper stalk.

Was any work carried out on your bongo previous to you noticing the washer's had packed up? Something could have been disturbed,accidentally knocked?

Probably just low on washer fluid andy, the feed is higher up the reservoir for the rear wiper,(same reservoir,same motor)so, as you begin to run out of washer fluid, the rear washer packs up first.

Fill the reservoir,and try it for a good 30 seconds,as the water has a way to travel...

ok then, its not the pump. it looks like its on the bottom of the washer tank as kirsty said and i have fond the 2 rubber pipes going to the rear and front screens, only one set of wires to power the thing so i am now thinking its the steering column.

just took me several attempts to spell column by the way but i am now trying to take off the plastic bit that protects it. i have found and removed 3 screws so it is now loose, does anyone know how it splits apart? i dont want to force it and crack something if there is an easy way to do it.

hmmm sadly, it's not that simple, coz i'd experienced the rear running out before the front much to my confusion before....

gonna be a spanners an multimeter job i reckon..... unless there is a separate fuse... but i don't think there is.........

the rear washer works so its not the motor so thanks for the word cowling and let me know how you get on with the cowling yourself

The cowling does need a little bit more force and manipulation than you'd think neccessary once the screws have been removed (70% manipulation, 30% force,to be on the safe side) You'll find that once you cracked open the kinder egg...sorry, shroud/cowling, it's much easier on any subsequent attempts.

My users manual says that a rear screen wash is a grade option. How do you tell if one is fitted to your bongo but not working?
