power steering fluid

Hello... could someone please tell me what type of power steering fluid I need. I poped into Halfords, thinkiking that I could pick up a bottle from the shelf, only to find, to my horror about 6 different types!! aaarrrggghhhh!! 
At the moment the fluid is sitting on the low line, but I don't know how urgent this is, but I suppose I should sort out soon??I had a look at old forum threads, but can't find anything on the power steering... AM I just being thick?? any help would be great!! Kind regards.....
