See my thread of last week on Leaking fuel pump!

Cost me £45 inc parts,labour & Vat

Garage recons that without the printout and 'forum factsheet' it would have cost me double that.

As a matter of interest are either of you using veggie oil?

cheers

I did my back in, Blutac, trying to do mine. Just couldn't get a hold on the nuts to untighten them. Ironically, I tightened one of them a bit by accident before I realised I was turning the wrong way. The leak, which was not serious, seems to have stopped since then. Irishman's luck?

Harry's price is astonishingly good. I'm not sure all garages would want to tackle the job 'in situ' like that (though it can be done, several BF members have managed it). Adrian, Bongo expert mechanic in Bury, said he won't guarantee do them in situ and may opt to remove the pump to to the job, with higher labour costs.

If having the job done, Dandywarhol and others recommend flatting off the covers to remove score marks before reassembling the covers and seals on the unit. Have a 'Search' of old posts and / or factsheets for more info.

Good luck
