Southern Softies Weekend

Re: Southern Softies Weekend
Well, huge thanks to Pete & Sue we have our new-to-us awning. However, we are both working very long hours , so our first time to build it will be on Friday - all good ideas & morale-boosting will be appreciated
Awning erecting is supposed to be a spectator sport, after all
Windsurfing-wise, if we have time I might squeeze in a sail on Friday pm. However, Saturday & Sunday are looking far too clement Another spectator sport . . .
Looking forward to meeting all you guys

Just in case anyone wasn't able to book a pitch for Southern Softies, you may like to take a look at the following link - I can't attend & would like my space to go to a good home:

Re: Southern Softies Weekend
Hope the toe is OK, Paul.
Weather update from Pevensey: it's been very sunny although a couple of brief heavy April showers Monday (complete with thunderstorm). However there is a cold wind and the forecast is for it to turn easterly so that won't warm it up at all . The campsite is quite exposed and we've had a frost most nights so make sure you bring plenty of warm bedding.
My 93 year old dad was admitted to hospital yesterday so it looks as though I will be coming and going all weekend which is unfortunate but I hope that I can at least be at Pevensey for some of the time.

Back out of hospital and limping well....Pete & Sue wrote:I'm sure there will be plenty of help for you at the weekend.
Can't wear proper shoes so hoping weather forecast is wrong!
Will need that help for sure when we arrive tomorrow as Susie has never put up a tent in her life...

Re: Southern Softies Weekend
hello peeps! I am a bit anxious about the weekend as I am a real southern softie with the sarf london smoke in me lungs most of the time and not a vest in my wardrobe!!! The weather is a bit chilly for me at present and this weekend's forecast is a bit grim. We have just returned from Tenerife to a cold house with busted central heating so I am planning on packing the hot water bottle and a few extra pairs of knickers , plus me old fella's vests!
We havent booked hookup so no chance of a leccy fire to keep me warm.
I know , I know all you tough northerners you must be havin a right laugh .........
We'll be there Friday evening sometime, havent booked the day off work so will be comin in me uniform...........
One consolation ... our teen son doesnt want to join us so is staying at his mates so yippeee we can get as drunk as skunks!!
Don't expect me to venture too far on those walks in the rain !
lookin forward to seeing everyone , love Salmon xx

Re: Southern Softies Weekend
I see that both Crazy & bfb are arriving later today.
Just as well you've got an automatic Paul
I'm there around noon tomorrow and will be distributing details of Saturday's walk & other local delights.
Mrs D might well have the answer to Mrs Handyman's dilema, if she can fit it in the boot of her car
Where ever you coming from - have safe journeys - don't put all your trust in the sat navs!!!!!
See you all then.
