Bought Bongo New Radio today :D

The lad in Halfords assures me that the Computer says " NO " to any additional wiring needed :!:

Unfortunately I cant get the bloody old one out :x

I have tried coat Hangers as suggested but still cant get it out

If I eventually get the old one out :!: . will I need different connections as I think I may have to or will it just be a case of changing leads :?: as suggested by the young man

I know this has been covered before but have tried the search using radio removal with no joy

when I fitted my double din dvd a couple of days ago it just had bare wires, I popped along to my local motor factors and bought the required socket with crimp connectors, a two min job and it just plugged straight in. Good luck.

band expanders are a waste of time unless you want to retain the old type retro double din units that the japs have a penchant for ! swap them out for a decent uk spec head unit...and i know you were putting a new stereo in..the old jap ones can be a pain to get out if cars...ive had a few that were practically bolted in !!

I have just swapped my jap radio cassette for a CD radio.
I made up 2 U shaped release tools but they needed a bit of a tap then
a bit of a pull to get the old radio out.

Fitting the new set was straighforward, the PC2-10-4 adaptor needed no alteration but I had to make up a new earth wire, I crimped a spade terminal on one end and a small ring on the other using one of the casing screws on the back of the unit to secure.

Next job is to redirect the feed from the starter battery to the leisure battery as the S/B ran flat in the short time I had the ignition on.

This seems to be a particular problem with the Bongo. I cant recall it ever happening in my diesel Focus.

I finally did it :D

No more Radio 2

A CD that works

It took me ages and four cut knuckles :x

Both Cassette and CD double Din Attatched to the chassis with very little access to the Rubber studs/Grommitts holding them in .

I managed to almost release the CD with minimal effort , but thanks to a twisted wire I was unable to get any more access to get the radio out .

I then gave up and went to Church. :?

After confession I was ready to swear again

Eventually I was able to manouvre a screwdriver x 2 and managed to expedite the offending items :?: :?: still dont know how :?:

No problem reconnecting the new connections

Not as easy as I thought it was going to be :!: :!: to get it out

Now bring on LED ZEPPELIN :D :D :D

Pardon my possible ignorance but do Halfords not offer a Free Fitting service?

Make it someone elses' problem . . . . ?
