I discovered today that my brake lihghts come on even if the light and ignition switches are both off. Is this some mad Jap lighting requirement, or is the Bongler just wired up wrong?

some vehicles require the ign. to be on for the brake lights to work, the Bongo along with many others are wired differently and do not require the ign. to be on for them to work, this is normal.

If my bongo is like that, i certainly haven't noticed it... I dont think i've happened across a car before that the brakelights work without the ignition... :?

Same as the headlights...

Speaking of which...I've noticed that the bongo headlights DO remain on after the ignition is switched off...That's mildly irritating.

Why would you want to illuminate a road if you are'nt actually driving? All it achieves is blinding oncoming traffic.

Thanks all, for the quick replies. I don't think my Fords or Vauxhalls were ever wired this way!
