Idea for interior light delay

Hi,

I've noticed on my bongo that the green light just above where the ignition key goes stays on for a while when you open or close the doors. This light illuminates where the key goes.

Would it be possible to tap into this for the interior lights and get the delay function this way, or is it likely to overload the circuit? Maybe I could use additional LED bulbs to reduce this load.

Just an idea.

I must be lucky then, it's a small light in the steering wheel cover. Maybe it's on the facelift ones only. Noticed it last night hence I was wondering if it could be a good way to get the delay function.

Ah...facelift version... mine's the older type...

I suspect the voltage carried would be inadequate to add another light to... but i'm no sparky!

I recon it would be ideal - same voltage - as long as the cable size can support another couple of bulbs...........................

If the delay system uses a capacitor, it will discharge quicker with the added drain of more bulbs so delay time will reduce.

Got to be worth a try though.
