Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone out there would know the symptoms of leaking air intake or manifold on a petrol model?

Reason for asking is since I had lpg fitted there is a strange, fairly quiet sucking noise behind the passenger seat between 1500 and 2000rpm.

Now it could just be my imagination, normal or the flashlube system but I wanted to be sure there wasn't something amiss.

I;m going back to the LPG guys next week to have the 1000 mile check up. They are very helpful and the look of their installation is very neat so if there is anything amiss I'm sure they will sort it out but I just wanted to known what this sucking noise could be (other than me just getting old an stupid  .

BTW does anyone know if the petrol V6 has electronic ignition.

Thanks guys.

Hi,

Kind of but then it went off on a tangent.

Found out what the problem was today. Basically my lambda sensor is not working well so running rich. Trying to find out now where I can get a new one from.

Still interested in what it would be like if the manfold or intake was leaking. I can hear this weird noise and it's akin to how annoying a dripping tap can be !!

Most lambda sensors are pretty standard. You need to find out how many wires it has and go to your local motor factor.

Partco have a selection, your best bet is to take the old one in

Oh and a leaking inlet maqnifold can manifest itself with high revs at idle and sometimes backfiring in the induction system.
