You won't need to use it in this country, not cold enough. It recirculates some of the exaust gases to warm things up.

Don't touch it - if it's still connected, you'll get really awful running like several members have experienced.

basically it shuts a valve in the exhaust that makes the engine run harder and warms up the engine quicker.

you get these with the twin battery set up, its called the winterpack, as mentioned you dont need it in this country as it doesnt get cold enough, they are for the north of japan where it gets very cold

Hi greg, if you experience poor running at any stage with your bongo, take a look at the valve in the exhaust first.

These have been prone to failure as they age,in some cases they "stick on" which is effectively like sticking a spud up your tailpipe!

I wonder if anyone will own up to putting a potato up an exhaust for a laugh in their mispent youth.

I saw someone do it to a Jag XJ6 with twin exhausts.

One potato blew out straight away, but the other side didn't.

The poor thing limped away up the road on 3 cylinders then all of a sudden the second spud couldn't hold on any longer, flew out and shot through the glass on both sides of a telephone box.

The Jag was an auto and the driver clearly had his foot buried in the carpet trying to get it to go - then it suddenly did big time.

I don't know who was most scared the driver when it suddenly took off or the person who had just left the telephone box.

Greg? Did you phone mike at wheelquick about the switch? He phoned me yesterday asking about the butterfly valve on the exhaust of a bongo with the "winterpack" ...it seemed a little coincidental considering your relatively close proximity to wigan...?

...it could just be that "small world" thing again.

Oh, great!.... a bloody spud has just whacked into my living room window

Even better is the black plastic tube off a roll of 40" dye line paper (now if you know what I'm talking about that should really give your age away).
